He lost his mother but he also lost his best friend. “I didn’t do it for her” That was Loki’s last words to Thor before he faked his own death. He would do it again to sacrifice his life for hers. If only he could bring her back. He would die in an eternal death of pain to bring her back. Even in fiction it wouldn’t be possible for this master of magic. There is no return from the land of the dead. Thor leaves the body.
Of course Loki felt a little bothered by this. ‘That twit left me here? After all I’ve done for him? And that nacho smelling woman he was with? I feel kind of betrayed.’ Loki thought.
He also thought that being raised as a Prince of Asgard he wouldn’t even deserve a proper ceremony like a prince should. Or a brother deserved. He knew he was hated for a very long time. Even before he did his wrong. He deserved better than this. Better than laying decaying in a wasteland of this dark world.
'I never belonged.' He gritted his teeth as he laid in the dirt. Tears stream down the sides of his face as he laid in the dirt. 'I'm nothing more than dirt.'
He imagined Frigga and her words. What she would have told him if she were there. Her words of love that only a mother would tell their child. He did not share blood with her but he was her son. She raised him. She was the only one that accepted him as her own.
"Goodbye mother. I will miss you. I am sorry. I am a fool. I will see you only in my dreams. You truly were my mother. In my broken heart;" He raised his hand to his chest. His voice broke. "You remain." He spoke towards the sky before he stood. Loki shifted into an Asgard guard and began his journey back to Asgard to rightfully reclaim his throne. It was his birthright.
I channeled him. A short fan fiction scene I decided to write out.
